I'll admit it: It's our fault.

Over the last two weeks, the stock market has become increasingly unstable. Rather than focus on quarterly profit reports, dropping oil prices, etc., it has been tossed about by the whims of the Fed and the brokers.

Why? Because BYU beat UCLA -- by a whole stinking lot:

From The BCS Guru:

UCLA made the biggest splash by getting mauled by Brigham Young, 59-0. The last time the Bruins lost that badly - in 1929 - the stock market crashed and the Great Depression began shortly thereafter.
Yes. The economic turmoil surrounding our nation's financial markets is because of BYU football. How was the economy after BYU's greatest teams won? Can someone check that out for me?

Oreo and Fudge Ice Cream Cake-Yumm!!

Below is an awesome ice cream cake recipe that is easy to do and really, really tasty. Joe thinks it needs more ice cream in it and less cookie, but I think its the bomb. I'm really excited that he's going to make it for me for my birthday. Yes, I know its not until December. but for Joe to make a cake or dessert, its got to be for a special occasion. Anyways, I can't wait. I guess if you want more ice cream, you can take off the tops of the ice cream sandwiches. I hope you enjoy!

I'm free!

So court on Friday was scary. We didn't get out until about 2:00 pm; (it started at 9 am.) I am really glad we didn't bring Afton with us. Thanks Uncle Forrest!! The cop that cited me was an hour late, which I think help prolonged the court time. Anyways, the judge found me not guilty and sent us home. The prosecutor didn't even bother hanging around for it. The judge was really nice, thankfully. It feels like a huge wall of cement has just been lifted off my shoulders.

Cougar baby!!

Yes, she's one cute Cougar! And I'm "Fully Invested" in "The Quest for Perfection".

I credit Afton's cuteness with the win. She's 2 and 0 while wearing the cuteness shirt!

Also, it's hard to get both of us in the picture when I'm also taking the picture and I'm trying to get our shirts in frame.

Notes from a hurricane

Tropical Storm Hanna is currently centered in Southeastern Virginia. we've been rained on since last night, and the rain should pick up for about 2 hours, then calm down before midnight. Here's a few shots:

What we've learned so far? First, our house does leak, specifically around the doors. We;re probably just going to need to get both doors replaced. The front door may be salvageable if we get a storm door. The back door? We need a new frame, I think. I can't tell exactly where the water's getting in, but I think it's leaking in through the damaged/rotting trim, and going from there. Go figure, huh?

Still, so far, this isn't nearly as bad as the storms while I was in Puerto Rico, but we still have about 6 to 8 hours or rain left before things calm down. the worst is yet to come.
