Summer Fun

I can't believe summer is gone, school has started. Some of the fun things we did this summer...

  • Scoresby Family Reunion. We were able to spend 4 days in Nauvoo for a family reunion. It was awesome. Afton and Tanner had a blast playing with their cousins! Tanner enjoyed roaring at everyone since watching Monsters Inc. on the drive up.   We were able to go the temple, which was awesome! We also saw some of the church sites and just had a great time with family.

  •  BYU football game.  BYU didn't play so hot, and despite the 2 hour delay and 2 horrible downpours, it was a fun time! Highlights included spending time with the Cramers, playing in the rain, and the awesome chocolate peanut butter shake afterwards. And, Joe and I didn't even get into a fight afterwards. Mostly, because I didn't try to cheer him up since I fell asleep on the way home.  :)

  • Joe has been kayaking numerous times and has plenty of scrapes and injuries to show for it. None of the injuries were serious, but gross looking. And we didn't have to amputate anything.... you never know what infections you'll get with the Potomac.
  •  Over Labor Day, we went to Harper's Ferry and had a blast. Joe went kayaking earlier, and we met up and just walked around, ate some really good frozen custard, and played in the river. The pics of the kids in the car are coming home from Harper's Ferry.

  • Swimming. Afton did the swim team again this year and loved it. She won her first heat ribbon at divisionals this year and was so excited.Swimming seriously took up most of our summer. Afton went to practice pretty much every morning Monday thru Friday, 3 evenings a week, plus 2 weeks of stroke clinic, and meets on Saturday. Swimming really does suck the soul out of you. :)

I was thinking I would be the only girl in the family with a happy husband after the game, but I guess not!

Yeah, I was happy we didn't get the game because it made my husband happier not watching. Tonight might be tough.
